Security Industry Leader Joins Strategic Security Solutions – Howard Hutchinson

Raleigh, NC, June 29, 2020 – Strategic Security Solutions (S3) is pleased to announce and welcome Howard Hutchinson to its team.  Hutchinson comes to S3 with 10+ years of security industry experience along with 20+ of sales leadership experience.  Hutchinson will join the company’s Raleigh sales team as a Business Development Leader after previously being employed as an Area Sales Manager for a national security integrator.

Industry Veteran Ron Oetjen Joins the S3 Team!

Ron Oetjen Joins Raleigh-based Strategic Security Solutions

Strategic Security Solutions (“S3”) announced today that Ron Oetjen has joined the company as a partner and will assume the role of President effective immediately. Adding an industry veteran to the leadership team at S3, a company widely regarded as one of the top systems integrators in the region, will provide additional leadership experience as the company continues to grow.

Strategic Security Solutions was formed in 2002 as the security division of Strategic Connections. In 2011, Strategic Security Solutions was split off into its own entity of which Jay Slaughterbeck became the managing member. Since its inception, S3 has continually grown and has been recognized on the SD&I Fast 50 list, as well as, the SDM Top System Integrators list. “While we are happy with our past performance, we also understand that what got us here won’t necessarily get us where we want to go. Adding Ron to the team brings new perspectives” added Slaughterbeck.

Ron Oetjen is the former President of Intelligent Access Systems and the architect of the company’s highly successful growth strategy. Slaughterbeck honored in the SSN “20 Integrators Under 40” class of 2016

Jay Slaughterbeck, the managing partner and co-founder of Strategic Security Solutions was honored as part of the “20 Integrators Under 40” class in October 2016. He said that the security industry is all he’s ever done. He started as an technician for a security company in Ohio and has never looked back.

One of Jay’s favorite parts of the Security System Industry is the lack of repetitiveness in what he does on a day-to-day basis.  Jay also likes the fact that because Strategic Security Solutions is a Security Company in Raleigh that likes to focus on cloud-based solutions, the technology with which he works is constantly changing and evolving: “We are doing a lot in that space and trying to do more. In instances where smaller customers don’t have the level of IT support needed, it eliminates that requirement but still allows them to have the functionality of a true enterprise solution.”

Strategic Security Solutions On Track For Big Year

Jay Slaughterbeck, a managing partner of Strategic Security Solutions, a security systems integrator based in Raleigh, NC, told Security System News that the company “is on track to have our biggest year ever” in 2016. He also indicated that the company was due to exceed $6 million in business, due in large part to sustainable growth from large customers and major projects. Jay explained: “The growth is all organic and when you bring on big customers, you get a lot of recurring service and expansion-type revenue.”

Another area in which Slaughterbeck says the company is growing is in the use of cloud technology: “The biggest new thing that we have embraced is cloud-based, or cloud-hosted technology,” he explained. “We are doing a lot in that space and trying to do more. In instances where smaller customers don’t have the level of IT support needed, it eliminates that requirement but still allows them to have the functionality of a true enterprise solution.” The growth of cloud-based solutions from Strategic Security Solutions has also partially occurred due to the company’s improved customer education attempts. Many customers did not initially understand the benefits of cloud-based solutions, but Slaughterbeck believes that Strategic Security Solutions has started the positive momentum towards cloud-based integrated security solutions.

Strategic Security Solutions has 12 employees and is the subsidiary of Strategic Connections, which does AV, fire alarm, phone systems and structured wiring. As a result, Strategic Security has ready access to its parent company’s technicians, and also derives sales leads from its parent company.
